Large Heath Coenonympha tullia (Müller)

Widespread but localized: Scotland, N & C Wales, NW, NE and WC England and N & C Ireland.

Mainly bogs and wet areas of moorland.

Hare's-tail Cottongrass, Common Cottongrass and Jointed Rush.

Usually mid-June to to early August.
